Tried using this on an M4 chip Mac after installing Rosetta and it didn’t work. All the compressed PDFs were blank. Worked great on my old Intel Macbook though.

Hi Danielle, thanks for your feedback! Whether you’re using an Apple Silicon Mac or an Intel-based one, the output should be the same, there’s no intended difference in how PDF Squeezer processes PDFs. Blank pages typically indicate a settings or compatibility issue rather than a hardware one. Could you please check if the compression profile was changed? If not, I’d be happy to take a look. Hi Gabriel, PDF Squeezer currently requires Rosetta to run on Apple Silicon Macs, but I'm working on a native version, and support for it will be coming soon. I really appreciate your patience in the meantime. That said, running the app through Rosetta shouldn’t significantly affect performance, Apple has done an impressive job with the translation layer. I have used the app earlier, but I refuse to install Rosetta to run this app. Why have it now yet been updated to Silicon Mac?

It's been years since apple m chip was released, and the rosetta still needs it, is not willing to develop. I know the "output" is the same. But someone wouldn't want rosetta installed on their personal pc. The pdf converter online is too good to put up with?

Hi Eunho, Thanks for your patience. I can assure you that a native Apple Silicon version is on the way, it’s just taken a bit longer than I’d hoped. In the meantime, the app runs perfectly well on Apple Silicon using Rosetta. Apple did a great job there. Cheers Daniel

I used Acrobat initially to reduce the file size of a PDF from 91MB to 6MB, but PDF Squeezer made it less than 2MB. No perceivable quality difference was detected.

It would be very helpful if the app could show a preview of the PDF for each of the compression profiles. I’m using the app less frequently because I usually create a couple of copies of the pre-compressed PDF and test the compression profiles on each one to find the minimum view quality/compression.
