JMacy

Download files with up to 16 parallel connections. JMacy redistributes work as transfers progress and backs off when a server limits connections. Actual speeds depend on your connection and the server.

Pause a download when you need your bandwidth back, then pick up where you left off. JMacy can resume transfers after a crash or power loss, too, when the source supports resuming.

Capture downloads and supported MP4, MP3, and WebM media from the page you're viewing. Browser integration supports Safari, Chrome, Aside, Brave, Edge, Arc, and Vivaldi. Cookies from the downloading site come along so downloads that require a login can work. The extension passes captured links and site cookies directly to JMacy on the same Mac, not to a developer server.

Open magnet links and .torrent files alongside your regular downloads. Follow the swarm, set your upload limit, and choose how much bandwidth to share. No separate torrent client and no forced seeding. Use JMacy for content you have the right to download.

Verify files with SHA-256 and use mirrors as additional download sources. The download inspector puts segmented progress, throughput, and transfer details beside your files, so you can see what's happening without digging through menus.

Watch download speed in the menu bar, get completion notifications, and keep an eye on the Dock badge. A clipboard watcher and jmacy:// links make it easy to add downloads. JMacy runs natively on Apple silicon and Intel Macs with macOS 14 or later. No app telemetry and no separate JMacy account to create.
