This app seems like it could be good if the developer did some more testing, I got several bugs just with setting things up with custom providers and even openrouter models were missing from model list. Custom councils don’t save properly, and don’t update (creates new council w/ same name). It kept adding Claude-sonnet-4 to every council. Reminds of what happens when I don’t verify every surface of the app when I’m vibe coding and several small updates + no quality control accumulates cruft. I encountered some significant enough ones just during setup of custom endpoints and configuration that I had to stop and just let it go.

Thank you for the detail, and I am sorry 7.2 let you down at setup. You found real bugs, and the cause was what you guessed: setup paths were not tested as hard as the council itself. All four are fixed in 8.0: - Saving a council under an existing name updates it, or you can choose Save as New. Edited and deleted councils no longer come back. - Claude Sonnet 4 is no longer added to councils. Model updates stay with the same vendor and tier, and custom or local IDs are never touched. - OpenRouter and custom endpoint models now appear in the pickers. - Custom provider setup keeps the model IDs you type, tests the endpoint, and explains a failed model list instead of hiding it. 8.0 also went through a full audit of the app, and more than 2,000 tests now run on every build. If you are willing to try again, I would value hearing whether it holds up for you. Thanks

I encountered a severe bug in the app. After attaching an image to AI Council, the height of the prompt editor is miscalculated and pushes the window down, making the app unusable.

Thank you for reporting this, and I am sorry it made the app unusable. You were right: attaching an image let the prompt editor grow without limit and push the window off the screen. That is fixed in 8.0. The editor keeps a fixed height when images are attached, and the thumbnails sit in their own row under the text, so the window stays where it is. If you try again with 8.0 and it still misbehaves, a note of your macOS version and the image size would help us pin it down. Thanks

The app works overall pretty straightforward, haven’t explored all of its uses but its been useful in comparing the output of multiple models and the developer has kept up with Setapp adding new OAI and Anthropic models (more annoyed with Setapp), much better than some other Setapp apps for sure. Thanks!
