PeekBar is a menu bar manager for MacBooks with a notch. When your menu bar fills up and icons slip behind the camera cutout, PeekBar brings them back — one click opens a floating panel right below the notch with every hidden icon. Click any icon in the panel and you get that app's real menu, exactly as if you'd clicked it in the menu bar directly. PeekBar lives quietly in the menu bar, works with or without a notch, and never sends a byte of data anywhere.

  • Access icons hidden behind the notch

  • Choose which icons show in the panel

  • Open any app's real menu with one click

  • Control PeekBar with keyboard shortcuts

PeekBar features

Hidden icons, one click away

When your menu bar gets crowded, icons don't disappear — they just hide behind the notch where you can't reach them. PeekBar surfaces them all in a clean floating panel that opens right below the cutout. No hunting, no workarounds. Just click and there they are.

Three display modes

Not everyone wants the same thing from their panel. PeekBar lets you show only the icons the notch is covering, every menu bar icon at once, or a custom selection you put together yourself. Set it once, forget about it.

Real menus, not replicas

Clicking an icon in the PeekBar panel isn't a workaround — it triggers that app's actual menu, the same way clicking it in the menu bar would. No copies, no limitations. It works exactly as you'd expect.

Keyboard shortcuts built in

⌥⌘P toggles the panel. ⌥⌘, opens settings. That's it — no digging through menus to control the app that manages your menus.

Starts at login, stays out of the way

PeekBar launches when you sign in and lives entirely in the menu bar. No dock icon. No main window taking up space. It's there when you need it and invisible when you don't.

Private by design

PeekBar runs fully offline and collects nothing. It asks for permission to read and interact with your menu bar icons once — everything after that stays on your Mac.
