TranscribeX makes it easy to turn your recordings into precise transcripts using OpenAI Whisper, Parakeet, and Apple Intelligence. Simply import audio or video files from your Mac, drag and drop them into the app, or record directly using your microphone. You can even capture audio from other apps (Zoom, Google Meet, etc). And when you’re dealing with larger projects, you can transcribe multiple files at once, saving time and keeping your entire workflow moving smoothly.
Translate, summarize, and streamline your workflow
With built-in translation tools (Apple Translate and DeepL), you can translate transcripts into multiple languages. If you need a quick overview of long recordings, you can create summaries with ChatGPT, Gemini, and other AI models by entering your own API key. TranscribeX also includes predefined prompts to help you accelerate your workflow.
Edit and refine transcripts with powerful text tools
Once your transcript is ready, you can merge or split segments, customize speaker names, reflow segments by character or word count, or manually adjust timestamps for perfect alignment. Word-level text following keeps your place as you play the audio or video, and speaker diarization automatically identifies and labels different voices.

What an excellent app! I used it with the Parakeet model which is moderate in size yet yielded an accurate transcription from a very noisy phone recording. I was able to use the Pyannote engine to assign speakers, and post-facto change the speaker names. Export provided many different possible formats including Markdown (which was perfect for entering into an LLM for analysis) with options for whether to include speakers and/or timestamps. I would not hesitate to recommend this app.

I’m a huge fan of this app! Would you consider allowing users to integrate their own LLM models and diarization engines? Having the ability to customize these workflows would make this an essential, permanent part of my daily toolkit. Thanks for your time and for a great product!

Thanks so much. I am happy that app is useful for you. Yes, you can definitely use your own LLM models, just install Ollama or LMStudio and run your own LLM models, then create an AI Service in the TranscribeX setting page for it. For the diarization, I am not really sure actually, but I am using the most popular ones Pyannote and Sortformer. If there is any other options, please let me know, I can integrate it into the app. It's all running locally anyway.
