Somehow my SD card got corrupted and was unreadable in any software, though it still appeared in Disk Utility. When I plugged it back into my camera, I was prompted to format it. I searched Setapp for a recovery tool, and the app I found did its job—I managed to recover all my photos. However, I feel the software could be improved. Other recovery tools I’ve used in the past allow you to preview files while the scan is in progress. This feature is especially useful because it lets you confirm that the detected files are the ones you actually need. Having such a preview option would be a valuable addition.

I prefer Disk Drill to iBoysoft. I found iBoysoft slow and found items that I considered unecessary. I thought Disk Drill was simpler, faster and more efficient.
