Set personalized break schedules
With just a few clicks on your Mac, you can set your breaks to match your workflow. For example, you can set it to a 20-second pause every 20 minutes or a 5-minute rest after an hour. You can also customize the skip behavior: skip anytime, skip after a delay, or lock breaks so you can’t skip. Just set it and forget it, or adapt on the go.

Take advantage of Smart Pause to maintain focus
You might worry that taking breaks will interrupt your workflow — especially during meetings, deep focus sessions, or screen recordings. But LookAway’s Smart Pause feature detects when you’re engaged in these activities and automatically delays break reminders. This way, your focus stays intact, and your eye health is still supported at the right moments.
Sync breaks with iPhone
With the free LookAway Mirror app for the iPhone, you can sync the Mac breaks to your iPhone. So, whenever your Mac goes on break, your iPhone automatically blocks distracting websites and non-essential apps too! No more mindlessly scrolling through social media when you should be resting your eyes.

One of my fave apps - I’m someone who hyperfocuses very easily and can forget to stand up, drink water, or take a break for 10 hours straight. This has been a gamechanger for me.

It uses a tremendous amount of ram for such a simple app

Hi, LookAway doesn't take more than 150MB of RAM when idle which I believe is nominal. If it's more than that, then it would help if you could send the output of "Sample Process" from Activity Monitor. Thanks for the help!

i’m really stubborn, and yet, i find this genuinely helpful. beautiful interface too. relaxing. i’m more mindful using it. i didn’t realize just how tunnel vision zoned in i get in my projects- it’s nice to be gently reminded to pop my head back up for air. thanks for making this. <3 hardcore recommend.
